Many people wonder how to choose the optimal shower enclosure for their bathroom. Some prefer to install the shower enclosure together with the tray themselves. Do you belong to this group but don’t know how to tackle a DIY installation? You’ve come to the right place! In this guide, we explain how to install a shower enclosure in a few simple steps that call for care and precision. Find out how to carry out each stage of the installation!

1. Levelling and installing a shower enclosure with a tray

When starting the installation of the shower enclosure, it’s crucial to correctly position and level the tray, using the built-in support frame for this purpose. Accurate levelling will ensure proper water drainage and the stability of the whole structure. Once in the right position, secure the tray in place.

Fix the tray to the floor using screws and wall plugs, which will provide a strong and durable fixing. Then check the tray’s stability, making sure it doesn’t move under pressure. This will help ensure the shower enclosure gives you long-lasting service — without unpleasant surprises or faults.

2. Fixing the tray to the wall, connecting the waste

After securing the tray, additionally fix it to the wall using mounting brackets. These brackets should be firmly attached to the wall to guarantee the stability of the entire structure. Fixing the tray to the wall will prevent it from shifting during use.

The next step is to connect the waste pipe to the tray. Make sure all connections are watertight to prevent leaks. Careful execution of this task is crucial for the proper functioning of the waste system.

3. Fitting the enclosure, installing the glass panels and seals

Proceed to install the shower enclosure, starting by assembling its frame. Slide the connectors into the top and bottom rails, then secure them with screws. Remember to leave a little play to allow easy alignment of the remaining enclosure components.

Next, place the glass panels in the frame, applying sanitary silicone to the bottom rails beforehand for additional sealing. Use the dedicated clips to lock the glass in place. Make sure the seals between the glass and the profile are correctly positioned, which will improve the enclosure’s watertightness.

4. Fixing the enclosure on the tray using silicone

When the enclosure frame is ready, place it on the tray. Make sure the enclosure sits evenly against the tray and walls, and that its vertical profiles are plumb. Mark with a pencil the places where the enclosure meets the walls.

After marking the lines, fix the wall profiles to the wall by drilling holes and inserting wall plugs. Apply sanitary silicone to the surface of the profiles to further seal the joint with the wall. Place the entire enclosure on the tray, sliding the vertical profiles onto the mounting profiles, then secure them with screws.

5. Installing and adjusting the shower enclosure doors

Start installing the doors by attaching the rollers to them. These rollers allow the doors to glide smoothly along the tracks. Begin with the top rollers, which allow you to adjust the door height, then fit the bottom rollers. Remember to cover the roller screws with caps, ensuring a neat appearance and safe use.

Next, hang the doors on the enclosure tracks, engaging the top rollers first and then the bottom ones. Make sure the doors are correctly installed and have no play. Then adjust the rollers so the doors move smoothly and evenly, without sticking.

To finish the installation, fit seals along the door edges to improve the enclosure’s watertightness. Attach the handles to open the doors, making everyday use easier. Seal the outer edges of the enclosure with sanitary silicone to prevent water leaks.

Installing a shower enclosure with a tray requires precision and patience. If you encounter difficulties during installation, don’t hesitate to seek the help of a professional. A professional will ensure that all components of the enclosure are correctly installed and functional. Remember that using a specialist’s services can ultimately save time and give you confidence that your shower enclosure will be safe and durable in use.
