  • an economical, much cheaper solution.

Cons:

  • less space inside the enclosure,
  • lower visual impact.

  • significantly higher costs than with a traditional shower tray.

How do you build a trayless shower?

According to widely held opinion, installing a trayless shower is not as intuitive as with a traditional shower tray. In this case, professional help is likely essential not only at the design stage, but also during installation.

How do you install a linear drain?

Wondering how to install a linear drain so that it performs its role as well as possible? Above all, precisely, taking every aspect into account. First, chisel out an opening in the appropriate spot in the floor slab, where the entire waste run will be concealed. Next, connect it to the soil stack while maintaining a fall of around 2%. After connecting the waste pipe, calculate the difference between the surface of the drain and the screed. The calculated value is the thickness of the screed to be poured into the opening, after first removing the drain. Once it has dried, precisely mark the position where the drain on its adjustable feet will sit and drill the holes. In the final step, insert the drain, connect it to the waste pipe, secure it firmly, and check the installation is fault-free.

How do you clean and unclog a linear shower drain?

We’ve devoted the last section to functionality and cleanliness. From this paragraph you’ll learn how to clean this type of sanitary system and whether water should stand in a linear drain. To the point… You can wash the floor under the shower with a traditional mop. Thanks to less soap scum than with a traditional shower tray, the trap in a linear drain is also very easy to clean. First, simply remove the special cover protecting the channel. After that, it’s all downhill. You can easily take out hair and other debris, which means you won’t have problems with water lingering on the surface.

As you’ve no doubt concluded, both a standard shower with a tray and a model with a linear drain have their advantages and disadvantages. Whether a given system will work in your home depends strictly on the preferences of all users and their level of mobility.
